Bosch DIY positions the EasyChain 18V-15-7 as a portable 18V pruning saw for cutting, pruning and limbing thicker branches. The important question is therefore not whether it can replace every chainsaw, but whether its capacity, weight and battery setup match the work planned around the home.
A compact saw for branches up to 13 cm

Taken together, these specifications describe a tool aimed at branch work within that stated limit. The battery choice affects the total cost
The EasyChain works with the 18V POWER FOR ALL alliance, and Bosch recommends a battery of at least 2.5 Ah. With a 2.5 Ah battery, Bosch claims up to 160 cuts per charge in 50 mm-diameter wood. That figure applies to the specified battery and wood diameter, so it is best read as a reference condition rather than a guaranteed result for every type of branch or task.
Bosch displays the tool-only version at £136. It does not include a battery or charger, but the package does contain 60 ml of chainsaw oil and an additional 15 cm chain. A kit with a 2.5 Ah battery and charger is displayed at £198. The difference changes the value calculation: an existing POWER FOR ALL user can choose the bare tool, while someone without a compatible battery must include the kit or separate charging equipment in the purchase decision.
Chain care remains part of the job
